TC Dojo Open Session: Why go to XML?

TC Dojo Open Session: Why go to XML? In this presentation, we’re going to talk about some of the reasons why you might go away from desktop publishing systems to something more dynamic, so that you not only understand it better but can get excited about the change.

TC Dojo Open Session

When Management decides to go to an XML publishing system, it’s not always clear to the authoring and editing staff why the decision was made.

In this presentation, we’re going to talk about some of the reasons why you might go away from desktop publishing systems to something more dynamic, so that you not only understand it better but can get excited about the change.

A note about this session:

Our Liz Fraley gave this session at the STC Silicon Valley Meeting several years ago. When the then Chair asked her for the slides, he told her that many members had remarked on the session. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Many mentioned that they never really understood all the reasons until now; and, when other members heard they’d missed it, they emailed and asked if there were video or podcast recordings because they’d heard it was a good presentation. If you haven’t seen it and you’ve been on the back end of the conversation, here’s your chance to get an peek into management’s reasons for going forward with XML.

Watch the video and see the slides.
